Hello from NE CA

Hi guys- new to forum. We are from McArthur, CA in NE California. We prospect for gold and metal detect for gold and relics (caches, relics, coins etc.). Would like to hear from anyone in our area- Fall River, Burney, Big Valley- and maybe get together and do some prospecting! We live on an old homestead, est. 1868 and have found a lot of old stuff (unfortunately, nothing of material value)- mainly from scouting our field each spring after the winter snows and rains. We have a lot of black sand on our property so went with a Tesoro Lobo Supertrac (has the black sand discriminator) after getting frustrated with a higher priced detector with bells and whistles. Starting to find coins and stuff. But, as with any old place- a lot of rusty nails and scrap iron. Don't think they threw anything away except to toss it in the fields! We also have been finding fine gold in the black sand and clay. Anyway- we think this is a good site- hope to meet some of you someday! Steve and Kathy
