Hi guys,
I just purchased this trench watch.

I was planning on using it as a project watch, as the dial is fairly beat up but somewhat fixable, the movement is mostly good and will only require a service and not much else. I was going to leave the case as is, as i love the patina.

This watch has an engraving on the back "Sue B Swartzlander Doylestown PA"

So i did some googling, and it seems it is a Sue bryan Swartzlander of Bucks county, and the family seems to have some history.

As i am in Australia, i thought i might reach out to you guys. Maybe help me find a desendant and or any history.

I would like to wait before i touch the watch, as it may have some personal value to a living relative.

Thanks kindly

Thanks Mackaydon.
I am finding a lot of info regarding the history of the family, they seem to have connections to much of Doylestown's early history. The golf club, the original homestead became the commiunity centre. Also some things i have come accross regarding the civil war, Gettysburg etc... as also mentiond in your link above

Just need to piece it together, there is a lot to go through.

I was thinking about sending an email to the local newspaper, once i know i am on the right track. I think i am, as the family has kept certain names, as in Sue, Susan, Bryan etc..
