Help! I found a cast iron toy gun and need info

I agree with detector dave, it's not a cast iron toy gun. not sure if it came off a stove or not, but it's for sure not a gun. so many things were made of cast iron, it's hard to say what it is. a couple of thoughts that come to my mind are part of a heating vent grate, or part of the frame of an old treadle sewing machine. But I could be way off

Interesting item - if you also post it in the "What is It?" forum on this same website, someone may know exactly what it is. If it's a stove corner, they may be able to supply a link to the manufacturer, or maybe you can track that down with a Google image search for cast-iron stoves. Since you found this OLD item in your yard, there may be some other vintage goodies there, so search it thoroughly -- silver or gold coins, silver or gold jewelry, neat relics! HAVE FUN! Andi
