Dug this small buckle (?) today. Mercury dime for sizing perspective. Anyone have any ideas in terms of its use, age, whatever? I dug a 1908 V Nickle near here yesterday.

any information is appreciated. now please stop admiring my mercury dime.

Looks like a horse tack buckle, or just a general purpose buckle, probably 19th century to mid 20th century. I would love to see this 1908 V Penny, must be rare lol. You mean nickel, right? :)
