It's a Chalcedony, and that type is sometimes referred to as Bubble Chalcedony. Also a type of agate.

That is a nice specimen. Red is correct on identification once again. Large with good structure. Color is a bit boring, but that may be the lighting. I find smaller specimens on some western Oregon streams. Mosty lavenders and browns, lightly colored.

If this was a find, and not a purchase, please enlighten us on the approximate location. Which river or creek system should be sufficient.

Time for more coffee.

Many types of agate can be found on both North Santiam and South Santiam rivers, particularly side canyons that may be accessible.
