Way to go trzrhunter. You been at it long? That find will spark a lot of questions about the 1750 fleet lost off the NC coast. Sure has me wondering... ;D

Actually it is a single coin. The picture shows both sides. It was not cleaned and was found about 5" in the slightly compacted sand. My guess is that it was somehow uncovered because of Hurricane Charlie.

Excellent find! You've got a Spanish cob there. I can't tell from the photo what denomination it is, but that is easy to find out by how much it weighs. I CAN tell you that I'd be really happy to find one. Way to go!
