Help identify Civil War? campsite find.

Found this item a few days ago and I'm not sure exactly what it is. 1 inch diameter at large end of thin copper, pin hole at closed end. Any guesses?

Looks like it may be the bottom of a walking cane

Thank you for input and it does have that dimensional look and I've also considered maybe a guidon pole tip. Just the copper is flimsy and moderately thicker than foil. Again, thank you for your reply.
