Help identifying this jug... possibly redware?

I purchased this pitcher recently. It has an applied handle and looks like it could be medieval redware as it has some similar characteristics (such as the handle shape, the medium used - earthenware?). Could anyone shed any light on this item based on the images? Thanks!

I can easily see how you might think this piece is in the 'Medieval Style' Redware Pottery, but it looks more like a reproduction to me. There are a number of visual clues here, aside from the rim chip, what is obvious to me is the lack of visual signs of use. The base is probably the clearest indicator, as it hardly exhibits enough wear to be 600 years old. :icon_scratch:

Here are a couple of documented pieces of actual Medieval Redware Pottery for comparison.
My hope is that someone with more experience then I will chime in here.

Dave
