Hi Friends !
I have a piece of "Blue Obsidian" from Santorini (Thera) volcanic Island in Aegean Sea , Greece. While looks beautiful the question is if it is Natural Genuine Blue Obsidian or something else including Man made Glass or whatever.A Helping hand will be greatly appreciated.

Any suggestion to get a laboratory certification ?
Thank you for your attention on this matter,
Kind Regards,
Dimitris

Did you collect it there or did you buy it?

Chances are, its glass slag. It's been a long-time fraud from Indonesia.

As far as I remember the only "real" blue obsidian comes from the US and is translucent at best, perhaps opaque.

Definitely glass, no such thing as blue obsidian; or red, yellow and green, either. I don't care what they say on Ebay! Only black, mahogany, snowflake, and rainbow sheen obsidian exist. All are very dark translucent to opaque.
