Hmm...as there is no photo here, and as this is Post #1 for you, I'm assuming you do not know how to post a pic. So!, when using the Quick Reply, just above the area that you type in, there is a row of icons. The "Insert Image" icon is 3rd from the right; click on that. In the popup window, click on Browse to get a pic from your computer, browse to the file and click Open, then click on "Upload Files".

Sure looks like it, and that's probably correct!! Have also seen similar pieces used in the hand-splitting of granite rock.

hard to say but its a good idea when posting pics of objects to be identified to put it next to a known object like a soda can or coin to judge size

they look like wedges that would be used to split wood or stone like someone mentioned above.

yup. just like that haha! Now that I know what size they are, I agree with your dad. They look like wedges that would be used to hold a hammer or axe head to the handle. Basically a wooden handle is inserted into the tool head, and the wedge is pounded into the wood handle to keep it tight in place.

if that is what they are, they could be very old or as little as a year or two old. That method of assembling handles to tools was pretty widely used and is probably still used by tool makers today.
