Hi Group!

Was at a sale today and asked the lady if she had any old kitchen appliances. She leads me into her basement and shows me this beast. Tested it and it's working.

Was wondering the value on something like this? She wasn't putting this out in the sale but will sell it to me as I have dealt with her in the past with other items and she trusts that I will give her a fair deal.

Maybe I can convince Mojjax to come over and help me refurbish this bad boy.:laughing7:

Are the metal cups or metal cup insert still with it?

Should be able to find re-pop chrome mixing cups. Build a little old fashion looking malt shop on wheels and make a killing at town fairs and outdoor antique shows in the summer. That sure is a bad boy.

That mixer might have some history. I did a little digging and found this blurb:

By 1927, Kroc was back in Chicago selling paper cups, determined to make his career in sales. In 1938, Kroc started selling a new product, a machine that could mix five milkshakes at once. He formed his own company, Prince Castle Sales, and began traveling the country selling the "Multimixer." Kroc struggled for a few years, and World War II (1939-45) forced a halt in sales. After the war, Kroc's company thrived. In one of his best years, he sold eight thousand mixers.

and for any body who doesn't know who this guy is just google McDonald's hamburger chain founder. (Ray Kroc)

Thanks everybody! There are 4 or five cups with it. I'm working on the deal pretty soon and think I can get this for around $50 or so.

I'll update and get some better pics when I drag her home.

Picked up the unit tonight in a package deal with a KitchenAid mixer in the deal. Paid $75 total for the two mixers. Can't go wrong with that price.

The KitchenAid sells for a quick $100-$140 on Craigslist around here. Now I gotta figure out what to do with this giant 5 spindle mixer! It is pretty cool even in it's current condition.

The main motor turns on and each spindle works independently by belt or gears and starts to spin when the cup is pushed up on the machine. Would love to see this in restored condition but I'll have to clean it up and see where it's at first.

I love coming across old appliances, there was a gasoline powered Maytag washer for sale in an antique store not far from the house, wish I had Bought it, it came with an original can of maytag motor oil, you can't beat the look of anything that was made from the 20's to the 50's

I know! I love milkshakes!!! I used to tend bar in south Florida and if I had my own joint I would mix some of the finest mixers known only to those in the know, if you know what I mean.
Swirled and infused sweet deliciousness would grace the cup, the finest chocolates, ground vanilla, cinnamon and the juiciest local fruits would be the norm. Fine yogurts, cream, airy whipped dairy and the finest finishes...Mickey Mouse would trade his soul!
