Oregon Legislature Limits Controversial Mining Practice . News | OPB

Last call for raffle tickets to help fight Oregon's unlawful instream mining ban. With the passage of SB 3 yesterday,
we now feel that our chances to bring a halt in Federal Court, to the rampant anti-mining agenda that is infesting the Far West
is even stronger than ever. Support your mining rights and get your your chance to win HALF A TROY POUND of gold
and dozens of other valuable prizes (equipment, AMRA lifetime membership and much more).
The final drawing takes place tomorrow night. Ticket sales officially end tonight (June 1st) at 8 PM Pacific Standard Time.

You guys should stop listening to those who post and "Like" crap and/or should verify the info yourself. I looked up SB3. Below are a few quotes. Who's mining who? A raffle to fight something that isn't happening? To fight something that repeals a moritorium? Lame totally lame!

Quotes:

excludes certain upland placer mining operations from moratorium and
requires certain upland placer mining operators to hold operating permit. Requires motorized equipment used for certain upland placer mining operations to be operated only during certain hours. Punishes upland placer mining operation outside certain hours or without permit coverage by maximum of $2,000 fine.

[Establishes permitting requirements for motorized in-stream placer mining. Requires Director of
Department of State Lands and Director of Department of Environmental Quality to enter memorandum of understanding allowing Department of Environmental Quality to issue certain removal fill permits. Authorizes Department of Environmental Quality to issue consolidated water quality and removal fill permits for motorized in-stream placer mining. Places certain restrictions on motorized in-stream placermining.]

Repeals moratorium on mining using motorized equipment.

Prohibits motorized in-stream placer mining in certain areas in order to protect
indigenous anadromous salmonids and habitat essential to recovery and conservation of
Pacific lamprey.

Requires applications for water quality permits to engage in motorized in-stream placer
mining to include certain information. Places certain conditions on motorized in-stream
placer mining pursuant to water quality permit.

Establishes certain fees for water quality permits for motorized in-stream placer mining.
Punishes motorized in-stream placer mining without permit coverage by maximum of $2,000 fine.
[Requires motorized equipment used for motorized in-stream placer mining to be inspected at
aquatic invasive species check stations.]

[Provides that motorized in-stream placer mining permitting, use restriction, inspection and penalty
provisions become operative January 3, 2021.]

[Requires consultation to determine whether state and federal mining programs can be better co-
ordinated.]

REPEAL OF MORATORIUM ON MINING USING MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT
SECTION 1. Sections 2, 3 and 4, chapter 783, Oregon Laws 2013, are repealed.

You all better go stuff some raffle ticket money in the pockets of those who are spreading propaganda!

Unbelievably Lame!

It'd love to know where you got the info on indigenous anadromous salmonid habitat used to make your map of a small portion of the State. Not that it matters how incorrect it is.

SECTION 1. Sections 2, 3 and 4, chapter 783, Oregon Laws 2013, are repealed. It's something that you want to fight?

You guys have real problems. The main problem is the fishing industry. The commercial fishermen are catching/killing over 100 million dollars worth of fish. Hundreds of millions of pounds worth of fish! The recreational fishermen add billions of dollars to the economy.

And they thing dredgers are a problem?

Read the link below! Notice how fish harvests dropped after the dredge moratorium!
