Hiya

I'm new here, this forum looks great. I was wondering if someone could take a look at this and tell me if it is anything of interest. There is a marking which is somewhat worn but I think it says France??? The clasp is a trombone clasp and the stones are definitely not plastic.

Thanks a lot

I can't help with identifying it, but I believe that is a hair pin, not a brooch.

I’m thinking first quarter of the 20th Century - Glass and base metal (might be vermeil - but doesn’t look like it). Persian or Egyptian influence. Both cultures were “Hot” in France during this period.

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Mollusc! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

I'd say bar brooch if it's as small as it appears. Also is it straight or is there a curve to it? Nice vintage piece regardless. I'd say 30's-40's myself.
