Hi all, I was at someone's farm house and was walking around the property when I noticed a massive fallen tree. I always check the exposed roots of fallen trees to see if any goodies are sticking out. This time there was what appeared to be a stoneware jar of some kind stuck in the main root system. The tree is 250-300 years old, so I was wondering if this jar could possibly be old enough to predate the house. The material it's made of looks very nice, so I have my suspicions about it not being old at all. I was wondering what you all think- as I'm not sure if it's colonial, stoneware, or even a jar! Included are pics of the rim, which would be about 8 inches in diameter complete, as well as a shard that shows the material pretty well. I offered the land owner to reconstruct it for them if it was worth saving. Let's see what we can find out! -Thanks, Frisco.
