Help with CW Encampment whatzit

Found this where I previously found the bullets. Not sure what this might be. Found it along with three banged up 58 cal. The photos are from all angles, it's about 1 1/2 inches long, has a hole, like a sight, but probabley isn't. It is about 3/8 inches wide. Rang in between brass and zinc, at six inches deep. Most likely brass. Any help appreciated.

well it cleaned up nice...i still don't have a clue what it is though.....but i liked my telegraph idea

bcs123 you could be correct. Did clean up well, but no markings. Still interesting. Enjoyed the day, rain included.

How about the handle for a crank out window. lock screw hole is in the right place and what looks like a place where a pin could have be welded to allow a rotating handle. Just a guess, HH Stan...
