I just got my first detector for my 15th birthday a couple of weeks ago and I have a problem

Since I'm only 15 I don't have a license so no driving
So where do I hunt? I tried my yard but there is gravel EVERYWHERE I can even try to dig a hole but I only have a six dollar shovel from home depot

And I live i live in mississippi if that helps you tell me where to dig

Thanks for your answers!

woods -- wear spray stuff.. go where you think you'll like. Gotta like where you at before you can even enjoy hunting.
parks -- new construction sites --GET PERMISSION AND BEFORE FOUNDATION LOL
DO RESEARCH ON YOUR AREA

The schools in your area, the ones you went to. Should be legal to hunt AND there are lots of coins and jewelry to be found. Also, ask permission from your neighbors. They won't all say no. We call the schools Tot Lots. Not the best way to meet chicks, but you never know. Welcome to TNet from San Antonio. Just have fun. Remember, you can take your stuff on the bus to a farther away place. Just be careful...

And no
No walking anywhere we live in walking distance to a pretty shady area with some pretty shady people so walking anywhere is out of the question

Watch YouTube videos, learn everything you can here on Tnet, from pinpointing, to cutting plugs, scouting and asking permissions....and do this faithfully for the next 2 years....
Then, IF you pass your drivers license exam and road test, you will be good to go.

Well lazabert I will try my woods again but it is or was some sort of trash dump and there is some old chicken coup wreckage piles out there but there is a lot of nails and old tin roof sheets witch as I'm sure you know is very hard to find good stuff in
But I guess I could try again

My favorite spot is around the base of old trees. I find a lot of coins from people climbing trees. You got any big trees in your woods ? Try looking under the tin roof pieces if you can move them. Watch out for critters.

Well Dannycoco
Yes I have very very wide trees everywhere
I can think of 4 or 5 off of the top of my head
I will look there
And Lifting the Tin roof sheets is pretty hard when they are under a couple of inches of dirt and roots
And I don't think moving them would help with the nails but I can try
