Thought I'd relate some ideas for places to look for treasure. When looking around old buildings check out the window weights. Each window had a weight that was hidden by a 1 by1 1/2 board on inside side of the window that was held in place by one screw. ( I found a confederate 100 dollar bill and bank 1000 dollar commemorative wraped around a weight with a string. ) Also check out for those fence post "banks" ( The one that I found was a shortened post about 6 inches above ground that was right next to a regular post. Under the little post was a small jar with indian heads, buffalo head nickels and some mercury dimes. ) Look for old trees around these old buildings not just in front but in back. Check out under old window sills. Check out those base boards ( those 8 to 10 inch boards that are at the base of the walls.) especially where the kitchen or pantry was. that's where grandma hid "her" stash. Just a few ideas.
