Looks like stuff I find around here sometimes- something like iron or some other object which has changed metabolically (maybe that isn't the right word)- where the outside has formed a crust completely different from what's inside. Interesting color or not, if you find several of them- with that kind of surface, break one open (I did- and found iron). You may be surprised. I may be surprised too! HH Yak
Take a better look before you damage or throw it away. It sure looks like it has been sharpened on the edges. Don't be too quick to act on it. Scraper ?
I have been waiting on a response like yours lol I am a huge fan megolodon and giving the presence of so much fossilized corral in my area that one piece after research could possibly be a fossilized whale bone from leftovers of a megolodon whale attack although only a theory it is quite plausible lol
