at the widest it is approx. Five inches. It weighs 4.5 pounds

It's a rock that may have been used as an expedient tool as a hammer stone. Maybe, or just a chipped rock. It could have been chipped by modern machines striking it. Also you didn't show both sides. It definitely is not a bannerstone.

Oh I see. Bannerstone the hole goes all the way through. I’m still learning lol.

100% positive not a banner stone at all.

The hole divit isnt smooth at all so not a fire starter, would like to say nutting stone but if so it wasn't used long as it shows very little use at hole, but only one picture.

Please, when posting questions on if something is artifact, always do multiple pictures of all sides and something for size reference like a coin or something that is known size. Want to see other side.

It looks like it was grooved with a knife or another rock. the hole is rough and not done with a finger. Just wondering since i had it in my landscaping for years and people are asking me what it was for.
