the day starts with a quick dump of coins at the bank. 3 wheats & a Rosie in the reject tray8-) IMG_3704.JPG now to the diggin' part. scored $1.19 in clad, a 5 1/2" X 1 1/2" copper vintage eyeglass case cover, a broken harmonica reed and 2 crusty square nails, proving this was farmland covered with a foot of fill. IMG_3707.JPG IMG_3708.JPG IMG_3709.JPG so things start gettin' good-------a Rosie sitting on big deep iron that the ATPro sniped amid the horrendous clutter . then a WEAK 51/52 nickel hit that is no way a nickel due to the scattered footprint of the target. my 1st ever gold chain, a 20" box link 10KT from Italy marked PCDA weighing in at a tiny 1 pennyweight ( still $23 melt value). finally amid the drizzle an 80/81 WEAK, barely there at 8"+ starts me doing an excavation-- as I expand the plug another 2 inches wider a stunning Irish love Sterling ring drops to the bottom of the hole. 1.7 grams of .925. total for this 25 acre site now at 1 Gold, 6 silver coins and 5 silver rings and of course the 1812 LC & the trench art WWII brass lighter. about half way through the swingable ground----what could still be there:dontknow::dontknow: IMG_3707.JPG IMG_3708.JPG IMG_3709.JPG IMG_3705.JPG IMG_3706.JPG IMG_3697.JPG IMG_3698.JPG IMG_3699.JPG IMG_3700.JPG IMG_3703.JPG IMG_3701.JPG

The square nails also indicate the age of the fill, Port Ewan: earlier than 1910. That sure is a long chain! Wonder what it was used for?
