I'm at a whole park where I usually go and I got a 4546 signal so I dug it and it was a nickel. The funny thing is it's very thin and I can just barely under the magnifying glass make out 194 so it's in the 40s.

now that I'm actually looking at it and feeling it the nickel is thinner than the penny

Boy that's a new one. Looks like the soil really affected the copper in both coins. Looks like the rim is gone from both sides of the nickel.

It's City Park in New Orleans. Lots of Oak trees, one is over 800 years old. It's a old park. Huge

It's the weirdest thing I don't understand it. Now I have found my favorite clad nickel. Yesterday I found now my favorite clad quarter. It had a hole in it.
