looks like a possible squared or rectangular pestle, any ideas what material it's made of? I found a similar piece but without a handle.

here's the one I found, it would be a good knock out club, but it's also a scarce squared or rectangular pestle.

idk it just seems strange that it is so rectangler. LIke some of the sides are so straight.
maybe im just seeing waht i want to see

No telling. It goes to the context in which it was found and proximity to other known artifacts. You can look for polish or wear marks. And many tools were not necessarily manufactured. Somebody could have picked it up and used it to crack open walnuts or something at the moment and then tossed it aside. You would use what was available and at hand. I used a big rock to beat a wheel bearing off of an axle one time. I don't know if that makes it an 'Indian Artifact' in the future or not. I would like to see the speculation about what it was used for, based upon the wear marks future archaeologists observe on it.
