Nice button. Lots of gilt left on it for a dug button.

Hey MB, how's it going? I'll take a guess and say the button is late 1800s, lots of gilt left on it. HH, Mike

It's going pretty good life wise but THing stinks as a rule.

I posted this button figuring it was just junk and was surprised that it's a fair find after all.

I found it about a block from the site of an old train depot. The site was where the original school house once stood (burned down ca. 1930's).

I kidded about the depth but seriously it was only about 3 inches deep. This whole area has been landscaped.

Thanks for the date info.

I don't need to ask how you're doing, I see all the loot you post. 8)

I should pile up most of the stuff I dig on the average day and take a picture of it all. After posting it here I'd win the "most junk" award for sure ;D

I've turned my discrimination way down and am working these sites very slowly. I'm digging pulltabs (lots of them) like 9 inches deep! This old button was only about 3 inches deep. I dug an indian that was maybe 6 inches deep. The stuff is all over the place due to landscaping, etc.

Been making any good finds Sherm?
