we call area from side walks to the road "tree belts "
even if there are no longer any trees -
if you hit these areas in older spots around older houses or older public buildings - you have a good chance of finding
old coins
usually the town owns land from side walk to the road - that is why they can put firehydrants and phone poles with out peoples permission - at least in my neck of the country

If everyday was a gold day it wouldn't be as exciting. I bet you have resolved now to go out and find something good, mission accomplished. Your MD'ing radar is now on and attempting to locate treasure laden spots, and your senses more acute to what your detector whispers to you. HH! Awaiting you next awesome find! I like the toy car is it a matchbox?
