I went back to that honey hole that I've been going to and I was checking any deep signals and I got this one literally around 9 inches. I don't see any wording on the bottom but there's a lot of corrosion. Would you suggest I soak this in something or is the old saying,"That's what is keeping it together." Its fashioned after the GM coupes of the late 1940'-early 1950's. IMHO, check photos on line to confirm. Neat find, Sub 8-)

I would leave it as is. It looks like it could possibly be a Tootsie Toy Car. You could do some research to see if they made any to look like that. They had quite a variety.

Nice toy car, shame it has a bit of rust in the fenders! I would not try to clean it any further as it looks like you got it as far as you could without taking off pieces that you wouldn't want to trying to clean just a bit more. I understand the OCD thing and would have been considering dunking it in rust converter (used in the auto industry to change rust into a primable surface) but that would mess it up and probably the best thing i would do is put it in a Plexi-glas or glass display to keep it from being hit or knocked around and just keep excess dust off so there is less desire to clean but still viewable. Either way that is cool and was some kid's fun back some time ago.
