And I am wondering if you fine gentlepeople might help me learn more about it. Found in my Yard in Teton Valley Idaho, where we have a couple of obsidian sources, but one person that looked at this though it was from somewhere else, possibly. My house is at the confluence of three creeks, it would have been an amazing hunting zone (in the tetons).
Can anyone help?
It is still sharp enough to shave with.

Welcome from Pocatello, Idaho. Looks like a small obsidian knife to me. Cool find.

Are there any ‘easy’ (I know, nothing’s easy!) to identify age and the original location of the obsidian?

Wish I could be mountain biking in City Creek this weekend..;-(

Welcome from Lander, WY. Sorry ,can't tell you much about the point. From the pictures it doesn't look fluted like a Clovis would be. Most of the prehistoric artifacts up your way are all obsidian. I love walkimg around up there, it's everywhere. Let me know if you ever make it down this way and want to detect or do some gold prospecting.

One side looks fluted so you may be right. Think it might not be finished.
