New here. After inheriting a whole bunch of stuff from deceased family members and researching a lot of what I was given an come tell intrigued me. I love stumbling across a new find or relic either garage sales or random digging. This site is fantastic with tons of information. Thanks!!! Ok, so Kitkat is an old nickname from middleschool on up, so that's the Kitkat, the 420 is my address....it wasn't until my divorce lawyer pointed out that its probably not a good idea to have 420 associated with my email etc that I asked why? I never knew 420 was a reference to "herbs" until that very moment!!! Lol!! By then. I figured I've used it so long why change it now! Haha, I appreciate the associations, means you guys are fun loving!!

To bring things back on a serious note if you have any friends of Chinese descent maybe they can help you out as to value on your ivory items....I've bought a few many years ago and they were pre ban items.....I still kick myself that I passed up on a series of about 8 horses in various positions on sale about 25 years ago for $1600 or so....awesome detail...these were brought over from China by the daughter of a carver who would take part of his pay in ivory as a sort of retirement plan if you will.

Most of the older items have a tan/brownish tint to them....hard to explain but the cast plastic items look obviously phony.
