Hi Kenneth, I live in Temple, about 10 miles north of you. I have had my detector for about five years but never really used it much. So a few weeks ago I got it out and started playing around with it in the yard. I live on the same property where I grew up, so I have been finding some of my old toys from when I was a kid, as well as a bunch of new coins (one wheat so far). Also have a 50's era dump located on the property, too much junk to metal detect, from the sound of the detector, you would think I have pure bars of silver,. So far a lot of bottles and one silver plated decorative lid of some sort, a creepy pink plastic baby head lid of some sort, a Rock City souvenir, and a bunch of metal crap.
Been spending my time getting to know my detector and doing research, found a topo from 1921 and an aerial from 1955 that I am using to mark areas of interest.
Maybe we will run into one another...
