Although we had finished mapping the whole of the site by gridding North to South, those in the know, return to grid East-West. As we have the whole site GPS mapped we are only gridding the main area. (Most productive)
We were somewhat surprised how much we had missed, although on the 2nd time around, I slow down a bit & get less fussy. (plus its super wet right now! Which makes me feel like I just finished a Rugby Match!!!)
4.5 hrs;

27 Scrappies
Bit of a Medieval Purse Bar
Roman Pin Head
Roman Bracelet Bit
2 Debased Roman Silvers of Postumus - Sadly in bad condition, but that's all part of it. Hopefully 1 closer to a better one.:thumbsup:

Bet the conditions nearly pulled your boots off! Well worth the effort though. :hello2:

Yeap, ankles are sore from trying to kick it all off!

Gridding the other direction is often very productive. I do it a lot on sites we have competition on as most detect in the plough line. Congrats on the Silver! Debased or not, there are Denarii to find!

Yeap, we went against the plough. Not only does it throw up coins on it's side but it accounts for your bad swing in one direction. To do a bad swing over the same point, in the other direction, would be 1 in a million.:occasion14:

Very nice finds! :icon_thumleft:

Man, those debased Roman coins are your version of a zinc penny!

Great post crew I love seeing those old coins and relics amazing

Awesome digs Cru...dang I wish I had picked up metal detecting rather than golf when I was stationed in Scotland!:BangHead:

Lots of history in the sunlight again. Great hunt!
