Another lovely day to return back to gridding the new virgin Celtic/Roman Site. It's always thrilling to be the first person to map & find out just what was happening on top of this hill 2000 years ago.
It was meant to be cold but still no gloves required, even on the exposed hill.
We expected the coins to start dropping off as we gridded away from the main site on the Eastern side down the slope. At this stage its looking like it will continue right to the edge, a much bigger scatter than my scouting had worked out! Today we broken 200 Roman Bronze Coins for this field. (in 6 days :thumbsup:)

5 Hours;

Livery Button - Cow/Bull? (new type for the collection)
29 Roman Bronze Coins
Jetton
Roman Bracelet Bit
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Celtic Bronze Unit
Celtic Silver Unit - Whaddon Goat Type 45-40BC VERY RARE. (Cru'dads revenge for the hammered kicking last outing):laughing7:

Today we also broke our best year for Celtic Bronze Units; 10, & beat our best Roman Bronze Coins; Now 1485:headbang:

I expected nothing less than that. I know you have the feeling. Congrats, great day! Must be special to be the first on a site. :occasion14:
Yes, but we were predicting 15-18 bronze Roman coins today, so our feelings were way off. I was thinking Celtic Silver but when predicting it with Cru'dad I down graded to Celtic bronze (which I did get as well)
With 4 bronze & 1 silver, must be a gold out there somewhere.:thumbsup:

Amazing finds I would walk from MI to hunt a day with you guys backwards with no shoes on one foot pulling a 20 pound brick on a road of nails with a broken back and a mountain lion chasing me lol

Honestly no idea. I like to know the rough value, so I can inform the land-owner, but as mine is damaged, it has little real value (maybe 50-100), but at least I can explain to the owner the starting point.

Thanks, I just got it today!!! I will post later. It's amazing when you have a good idea of what's coming next, these things are near impossible to predict, but Cru'dad called it today before the hunt started!:laughing7:
