History Lesson: Why Eisenhower is called "Ike"

There was a post earlier about is an Ike an Eisenhower. I got to wondering how he got the nickname Ike. It appears from my quick search in google (thanks XX, I was unaware of this search engine) that Eisenhower's older brother was called Ike...and then his parents started calling his brother big Ike and referred to Dwight as "Little Ike." Ike just stuck the rest of his life...

Also, his name was really David Dwight, but he switched it when he went to West Point. Sounds like a hooahh name to me! Happy hunting...
