Hit A Milestone Today......

My search today resulted in 2-64's & 8-40%'ers. With these 10 silver coins I have reached the 1000 silver halves mark for the year....wahoooo. Tomorrow I start on the next 1000.

Thank to you folks for getting me started in this enjoyable hobby.

BTW - My husband thinks I'm crazy....I brought home a box of pennies this evening.....lol.

My first two boxes should come in this week, but it will take some extraordinary luck to get anywhere near your totals. Keep up the good work!

The pennies are fun too! Of course for instant profit you cant beat the halves. But who knows with your luck you may find a 1909 S VDB or a Flying Eagle. Let us know how you do!

I don't think anyone that does this is crazy at first.

When you start throwing elbows as someone looks over your shoulder to protect the stack of coins in front of you, then your on your way and should slow down a bit.

Thanks for all of the kind words. It really has been fun!!! I rolled them up in those supersize $20 half wrappers that I picked up at this one bank. I rolled them by year...stuck them in a box and put it deep into my closet.

Onecvj - I don't keep track of the halves that I search but I search most everyday. One bank I deal with has a 1000 loose halves coming in a bag Wednesday...must be a strong bag....I am thinking how am I going to carry this bag to my car? I may have to drag it along.....I hope there will be a bunch of keepers because I have to drag it back to the bank....lol.

Now for the pennies....I was at Barnes & Noble and picked up a penny coin collection book. It is from 1909 - 1940. It makes me crazy seeing that thing with all those empty slots.....I have 3 slots filled so far so I have a long way to go.....but I am working on this.....thanks Scott!!!

I also picked up a Franklin Half dollar collector book & it is from 1948 - 1963. I have a few but with the assistance in trading I should have more slots filled soon. Thanks TD!!

Awesome success so far LJ. To put things in perspective, after last night I've now searched through 46 full boxes of halves ($23,000) and another ~$2,000 in loose or rolled; and have just past the 500 silver half milestone for the year.

I'd venture to say you haven't searched double what I have, so having found double, is quite an accomplishment.

Again, kudos.

BTW box # 46 only yielded two keepers (64D & 02D), but that's two more than I had yesterday.

That's pretty good, I'm impressed. I met a girl at the casino last Friday while at the blackjack table. Turns out she's a teller at a fairly new bank in town and told me I could buy and bring back coins where she is. Thinking about trying it.

watch ya back gurl! pat's catchin up! once i update deez totals i'll be real close. no one know these memphis streets like me. you lucky i can't cross state lines with that parole, otherwise i'd drop you off 'bout $4000 worth of deez clad coins with the magic marker through the face. you'd see how some of us out here on the grind live; ain't got everything handed to us.

And even if they don't, you are getting money for just a little bit of enjoyable effort... cannot ask for more.
