Came home early from the in-laws and called my former Cub Scout to see if he wanted to detect last night instead of today (homework is more important). Well he said sure and I met him at the place where all the bottles were dumped. Him and myself had the detectors and my two kids I had searching for whole bottles and jars. Let me tell you we came home with quite a few bottles!
Unfortunatley we didn't come up with any coins. There was just too much trash and foil and vegetation there to properly detect. My DIT (Detectorist-in-Training) did come up with the winner of the day. He dug up and old fork that was engraved with "MYH" on the end. I tried to get a close up of the engraving but it is too blurry. Have to figure out how to get better close up shots. Anyway there is a pic of him holding his fork.
I only dug up trash and 2 interesting items. One was a key with "P & F Corbin New Britian CT" on it. The other I have no idea what it is and will post it in the 'what is it' section. Anyway we had a good time and hope you enjoy the pics.
BTW the one brown bottle has a Revolutionary War soldier on it and some other stuff around the bottle (ships, flag). The cap was still on this one and it says "Frankfort Distillery".
