Hit the low tide today got 2 merc dimes that are toasted thats why no pic of them. But did get a 1955 class ring got home with it dropped it and it broke into 3 pieces oops thanks for looking

Being an "inland hunter" and not knowing anything about salt water hunting,does the salt water,carode the silver Mercury dimes? I know they come out of the ground here shinney and bright.

Silver turns black and crusty around salt. Process darn near starts the day of the loss.

Old 10k gold can get brittle like that. Nice find too. Class rings are cool to find. hh gl -Joe

Yes, the salt water does a job on silver coins; here's a pic of some "Mercs" that I pulled out of the ocean..these are not too badly tarnished....I've found some in worse condition.
