Today we were off to the races… well the old race course stubble bit! Now this wasn’t a super active race course with only one event a year… but I love the history. We detected here last year with our old machines, but this year it’s still a stubble field so we didn't do as well, however, it’s still a beautiful place to spend the day. Will add a google earth pic, the track is the perimeter we were in the middle bit.

Gorgeous little buckle, bobbin shot, musket balls, and whats left of a toy gun, buttons, a crusty penny and a thruppenny bit, then 2 George the 3rds (1760-1820) … clearly we didn’t find the beer tent 😁… hopefully we will get a chance to come back when they have got rid of the pesky stubble! Xx

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

They really need to get the cutting head lowered to be cutting that stubble to an acceptable hight.

I believe that is the first snail handled toy gun I've seen posted up, lovely looking little guy. :laughing7:

When using google earth on different timelines, its the cropmarks in the bottom left (green field) of the picture you should be targetting.

Great finds !
Hunting in stubble like that is really tough.
We deal with Corn & Soy Bean stubble a lot but it's not nearly as bad as you have there.

Yes indeed we have our eye on that one, but still has crop on it, we went Out earlier this week for a look! The harvest this year has been challenging! xx

The harvest has been crazy this year, some fields still have crop in them and some still have the straw laying awaiting bailing, hence we took a chance in this one…! xx

ha.. in two minds whether to add that gun… but given the lack of anything to photograph it got its moment ! xx

Many are having a hard time harvesting, cutting hay. To wet 20cm of rain so far this month.
