Just when I think myself and Renogeoff have cleared out this lot it keeps surprising me with finds. This last weekend I dug all the whispers and iffy signals and it paid off, it was rough theres alot of trash to deal with but my persistance paid off with some great finds. Only foumd 1 silver merc this week but came up with lots of other great finds, hopefully I can get some identification on some. Theres a Silver and copper piece marked taxco mexico that I cant figure out what it is? Found a great Ford badge from the 30's, a watch fob and token from boulder dam also from the 30's.lots more tokens, some unidentifiable coins, the usual pile of wheats and a large ball of lead and a bar which I also think is lead, sure got my heart racing though thinking it may be silver. Lol. Guess ill see this next weekend if there is possibly more I missed.

Hi Ray nice variety of items found there ! The soil there appears to have a mean bite to it also, wonder why?

Thanks, alot of my finds here in Vegas come out this way. Alot of soaking and cleanup involved. Dirt is usually very hard packed and dry maybe it has something to do with the heat here? I have so many finds I still need to clean up to even see what they are, ive learned not to throw anything out till ive cleaned it up, I would of passed up some great finds if I did.

Great finds Ray! Too bad you couldn't put a fire hose to that lot for a couple days, soak that baby. I'd bet you'd find all kind of more finds, lol Just a idea Iv'e been wanting to do because I'm impatient. I always enjoy your threads probably because tokens are my favorite!

When I first started over 20 years ago I seen alot of other detectorists, but now its very very rare. In the last 3 years I proably have run into 4. The only other one I see consistently is renogeoff here on this site, but where also proably the only ones brave enough or stupid enough to go in some of the old neighborhoods where all the great finds are left. I rarely hit the parks but when I do I never see any one else.

We just had a very large storm pass thru that really soaked the earth so ill see what happens. Your like me where I get more excitement digging tokens than silver. Just to bad that alot of them here come out in so rough a condition.

Thanks, believe me I dig alot of trash to recover these finds, I dig usually over 50 holes a hunt but its worth it to me in these old places if you want to find the goods. The soil conditions change the tones and numbers so much if you dont dig you miss alot.

Good finds for you as always Ray. That's a lot for a site that you've hit many times.

Thanks old dude, it really brought up alot when the scraped the dirt up, the house next store recently also got tore down but just the house itself not the foundation or yard. Crossing my fingers that there going to rescrape this whole area of both yards again.

Great assortment of finds. The token w/ Willis Driskill might have more info. They had a machine that was like the old strip label makers where you punched one letter at a time. You wrote your own message on the token. Lots of service guys did them. I found one w/ name and service number and was able to return it(we're a pretty small town and his was uncommon name). Some times they put name/town. Some even printed dirty messages.
Looks like a lot of alkali in the soil there. Good luck.

I like the old boot toe cap. Is that your Taxco piece? Looks like you've got a good site.

Old okie, thanks for the id. Been knocking my brains out trying to figure out what that was, now it makes sense when you look at it.
