Acculy, you are wrong about that . I have found many Americans in the area at the time 1815-1825, hunting parties, trappers, explorers and miners . Seems you need some home work, and stop collecting just the stuff that backs your agenda .
Pike, Carson, Long-Beall, Pursley/Purcell, and Jeremiah Johnson, who is up there still.
Reckon Beale knew Jeremiah?

Johnson/Johnston arrived at St. Joseph in 1843. Formerly from the East pre whatever activities in between.
His birth estimated just before mid 1820's.
He was buried in 1900 near Beverly Hills ,San Juan Hill section of the cemetery. Row D ,second stone from the road ; Jno. Johnston Co. H 2nd. Colo. Cav.
A petition or similar was raised to move him , I think Redford was involved, but I don't recall if J.J. was moved or not.

Well, the US Gov't paid for EF Beale Expedition in 1858 or so... didn't he bring back the FIRST piece of GOLD to the EAST, prior to the GOLD RUSH in 1848..? "49'ers" boogied WEST after THAT! AND! Then, there was John Pickrell Risque out there (brother of James Beverly Risque); MANY mines out there, then... WHEW! :laughing7:

Not true. You've just posted a lot "as fact" that isn't exactly accurate.
Very true, Bigscoop, many posts recently have been in the could have, maybe, or this happened to others so maybe it happened to the Beale party. My favorites are because it is the Beale Papers its true, or the Beale Papers is a historic document.
The only facts concerning the 1885 Beale Papers is that James Beverly Ward copyrighted it as agent, published it with cousin John William Sherman printing the job pamphlet priced at 50 cents and advertised in the Lynchburg Virginian newspaper.
When one goes outside of the Beale Papers seeking proof of the narrative text, outside proof does not exist.
