How do you spend halves in AC or Vegas?

This might be slightly off CRH but how do you spend your halves in AC or Vegas?

Can you redeem them for bills or what?

It used to be that way.. not so sure now since they went to electronic credits instead of coinage on slot machines. I think they still use halves at blackjack or baccarat tables. I recall they used to have huge coin counting machines on sight and I have turned in boxes of halves at Lake Tahoe before but that was 2003 era.

As far as I know, AC is all electronic. I don't know about vegas.

Cash them in at the cashier/cage in the casino.. Took 1 box of dimes & 200 halves last weekend to Harrahs in North Carolina. Cash in / bills out..good luck. Doug

If you are looking to spend them, then its the same as everywhere else...

1) Go to a store.
2) Select item.
3) pay for items with halves.




I can't speak to AC, but if you want to gamble them in Vegas, I believe there may still be some casinos downtown which take half dollars in their slot/video poker machines (skip the strip all Ticket In Ticket Out). There were some the last time I was there, but that was about 4 years ago.

I didn't realize they would still cash out coin at Cherokee. I use to search the half dollar machines for silver then dump them. Then they went to all paper.
