when it has sands moving across it for around 200 yrs on the ocean floor
when I went to pull it from my scoop - I could tell it was not a quarter - first thought
was maybe some sort of token but as I pick it up I thought it could be a Lc or a colonial
cause Ive pulled flat buttons from the 1800s and musketballs from here
it had a black residue on it that wiped right off - this is not cleaned
it moving in the sand wore it down and kept it clean

That's actually a really cool looking coin. Sometimes the way a coin wears makes it much more appealing to me. This is one of those.

have found lots on land - this is only my third from water - wish it was in better shape
but I still think its cool and gives me hope there may be some other older coins there still
oldest coin found at this spot before now was an 1898 Barber quarter- hoping to get a colonial
from water one day

Casper- I think its in great shape, just as it is. That is one unique coin. I'm guessing that you will never find another just like it.

I find it to be just amazing. The Big-O ocean lets you have something after 200 years and you don't even have to clean it. A Big-O-Congrats to you.

I think thats a nice find Casper. The smoothed out look from the sand gives it character. You just wouldnt get that look from normal circulation.

I agree the shape and patina are beautiful. If you have to find a damaged coin, it might as well be cool.
