I'm just getting started in scrapping. So far, $300. I see it less as a way to realize profit but more as a way to satisfy my desire not to let resources and potential wealth go to waste. Plus, it's fun. :)

What I've come to appreciate is that it all adds up, as long as you keep saving.

just a check? lol

last time I turned in some scrap (i only do it about twice a year.. < $500 a year)
unloaded my copper and aluminum, it was separated, weighed and catagorized.. and a ticket was printed
that I had to take to the office window. A lady there required my ticket and valid gov ID which she scanned onto her computer.
she gave me an ATM card and directed me around the corner..
popped in the card and smiled for the camera ;D and it spat out my money.

how's that for curbing theft.>>>Gov. knowing everything? lol
(I assume the thieves don't go to this scrapyard) ;)
