We had to travel to Eastern WA yesterday so we took the opportunity to MD on that side of the mountains. WOW! Tough digging compared to here in Seattle.

We went to the campus of our alma mater- CWU (Central Washington University). Didn't do great: $1.60-ish in clad. Had a super fun day in the warm, dry weather.

Found my oldest coin to date: 1959 penny at the fairgrounds of the "Ellensburg Rodeo - Since 1922" So how old does a penny have to be to be a Wheatie?

Wheat pennies started in 1909 and ran thru 1958.
Also Indian head pennies dated 1909 which was the last year for them.

Well nice finds. As for the Wheat penny they were made from 1909 to 1958. I suggest you buy The Official Red Book of United States Coins 2007. Cost $14.95 or cheaper, look around.

Thank you for that information. I bet I wasn't finding them because I didn't know what I was looking for. Sweet.

Seriously tho, thanks for the info!
