Well, the inside back panel sure looks like it was smoothed out with an adze

On your fourth picture, it appears the hinge is attached with round nails, not cut (or square) nails. If that is the case, than your age would likely be about 1900 or thereafter.

It looks as if the hinge had to be refastened at some point. I'd like to see close ups of all the nail heads
