I found this thing out in the woods today. There are some old crude stone walls on this property. We want to know who built them and try to figure out what we can about the history of the area. Does anyone know how old this metal object is and what it would have been used for?

Looks like an opener.
To make a row with a shallow furrow for seeding.
(?)

Or , maybe to harvest with by loosening soil along a root crop.

Kind of hard to tell since it is half buried, if you can pull it out and get us a real good picture of all of it we might be able to give you a proper I.D.

As first suggested, it is a seed planter. In your last photo in which the item is upside down, the circular part would hold a round metal container that held the seed. The round holes in the circular bottom are where the seeds would be dispensed. It is most likely at least 100 years old.
