That is the question, and here is the answer...

Pretty well!

I started off this little experiment by trying it out on a dateless buff I found CRH a while back. There was a "D" on the back side, and the nic-a-date had no problem revealing this coin as a 1917. Take a look:

Next, I tried in on a few worn out liberty head nickels and finally, I put it to the test on the shield nickel. I ended up getting some decent dates out of it and had a lot of fun!

sweet video always thought it only worked on buffole nickels
