Hi everyone! I'm Mark and I took a LONG vacation from metal detecting. I used to have an old Heathkit detector when I was in middle school that weighed a million pounds. Fast forward 30+ years later, and I'm back into it with my 7 year old son. We live in historic Fife Lake Michigan and there is TONS of great sites around here. The trouble is people letting us get to the sites. Basic finds so far....pennies, nails, some ceramic and cast iron. Also many old railroad spikes, as we live in an old lumber town with active railways.

Anyone else in my area have any tips for some hunting grounds, I would greatly appreciate it!

Anyways, looking forward to participating in the group. Thanks for such a GREAT website!
