I didn’t dig this but it came in a box of relics my husband received to sell Looks like the button says Murphy&Hobys and Dublin. Cannot tell a thing about the front.

My guess would be an Irish militia regiment - there were hundreds of them in the late 1700s - early 1800s. There is some writing along the edge that may be deciphered if you use a loupe.

Here is another button by that maker and also some info about the maker.

1809 button commemorating George III's 50th year on the throne and a ribbon of the Loyal Orange Lodge of Indian Head. 1809 50th Year of Reign button, 27mm bronze, issued by Michael Murphy, 4 Hoey's Court Dublin. Accompanied by a 20th century ribbon of the Loyal Orange Lodge of Indian Head, Canada. Michael Murphy, button maker, was also at Fishamble Street and later at other addresses. He operated at least from late 18th Century to at least mid-1830's, sometimes in partnership with others (eg : with Campbell, 1788, button and plated metal manufacturers, 4 Hoey's Court; and with Collier, 1825, button manufacturing and trimming warehouse, 11 College Green).

Thank you so much for the info Bramblefind. So it’s Hoey’s court then. I think I’ll be able to find out more info now about the company.
