Yesterday was a perfect weather for metal detecting. I went to an old vineyard.
I found a traditional hungarian clay pipe, old shotgun shells and more interesting objects.
Thanks for looking.

My thoughts, although not had covers just stem trimmings.

What is the date of the pipe?

You are right, Crusader, the cover was a few inches farther.
I think the date of the pipe is XIX. century.

No, I had no idea they were seperate, I have just had different parts of the pipe decoration from the stem , never a bowl cover. Thanks for the date, as I had no idea

I don't know exactly what You call German Pipes over there, but we find the bowl covers a lot here. Some of them are very massive, not like the thin one Garryson shared with us.

Never heard that term either, but I'm not very 'up' on my pipes, hence the question  I've heard of a beer stein cover :laughing9:
