First post in this forum for me guys. Usually stick to roll hunting but we've been getting some West Texas rain so I thought I would get out a little. The soil is now actually damp, instead of brick like. I went to a park in town that used to be where they had fairs and an old race track. Unfortunately, much of it is now under sports fields and inaccessabile. However, there are some 1930s era building still on the property so I thought I might give them a little hunt (after unsuccessfully hunting an open field in the park--I think its all fill dirt). I found my second silver dime ever, and my first ever Merc (1944 S) and boy is she beat up. Shes been clunked on the head and bent up, as well as stained red on a portion. But still my first merc!

Ive have also nabbed my first wheats ever, last week, dates being 1925 D, 1912, 1945, 1944S. The 1912 is also my oldes coin thus far. I need to get out more!!! Happy hunting fellas!

Even in a beat up state, those Mercs are still great looking coins.

Congrats on your finds!!
