Now that I have put on a substantial number of hours on the ACE 300i, I went over the same spot with the ACE 400i today, I managed another 27 coins, including a nice 2 dollar coin. I don't know how I missed it the first time with the ACE 300i. So, in summary.....the ACE 400i gets a little more depth, has a little bit better ID capabilities and bangs real hard on quarters compared to the ACE 300i. They both are excellent coin machines, and really perform well with Canadian clad as well as the several US dimes and quarters I dug up.

Below are my finds from the last couple of hunts.

John, I found the same thing with the 350 vs the 400 down here. I am hitting coins and buttons much better, especially nickels and small flat cuff buttons. I have also found more rings (though so far they have all been plated). I like the new Garrett machines and the 400 is very competitive down here with people who have Pros, with stock coils, of course.

I'm beginning to think that you detect in a bank vault with all the clad you post!

It's always location location location and just using a screwdriver to pop those coins up as fast as you can pinpointing with your coil or Pro-Pointer.

Are they the same as the ace 150/250 range

Not sure what you are asking......depth? Price? They (Ace 300/Ace 400) are tweaked to get better depth then the ACE 250.

Hi John: I think it would be interesting to try a spot with the 400 first and then the 300-- My experience has been that a second try on a site gives up stuff even with the same machine Perry

I guarantee that if you went back with the 300, you would still find stuff.

I have a house in my neighborhood that I have detected no less than 20 times (fairly small yard, maybe 1/3 of an acre). I blasted it with my MXT Pro and my CTX....still find stuff every time I go in areas that I have surely walked over many times. Granted, each time I go, I dig increasingly iffy signals but it's me, not the detector.

I second that notion!
