Hunting lucky soccer field

Hunted the soccer field were I found my first silver. Got a good reading and dug a quarter out and thought I had my first silver coin , thought the date was 1946 but my luck it was 1996, so with that still looking for my first silver coin or wheaty. Maybe when I get my t2 I'm saving for.

You have had an experience that most of us can identify with. I can't tell you how many times I squinted at the date, wetting it with spit, of course always careful not to scratch it, straining my eyes and misreading the date believing I had silver when it was clad. Then something miraculous happened. I actually dug up a real silver coin. You know how I could tell? Because it looked as good dug up as it did the day it went in the ground! Like silver! One you get a few you will recognize silver without the date! I guessing that day will come sooner than you think. Thanks for the story. HH
